Twins

So this was a speedpaint and I honestly think it only took an hour! I'm pretty amazed! I've had the concept in my head for a couple days, though--it just suddenly occurred to me I've never drawn Jelena and Saurel TOGETHER. They ended up looking completely different from each other here but it's just a speedpaint so I'm not upset about it.

Their species' concept originally came from a throwaway line from a Star Wars game I played about a species whose children would all look remarkably similar. Basically, they're nearly always born in sets of twins/triplets/etc. I kind of wanted to explore the mental consequences of that--would the kids end up getting enough attention, would they all get restless and feel the need to leave home as soon as possible, would their resent their siblings for the similarities? Or would they adapt as a species to notice the minute differences between themselves and feel encouraged to be true to themselves? A mix of both positive and negative ramifications, to be sure.

Jelena dotes on Saurel, but Saurel is more introverted in comparison (though she's still an extrovert to be sure) so she doesn't appreciate the attention as much. Saurel picked up all her space-invading techniques from her sister.
