The Original Trio

EDIT: Gave Stein glasses and made Spirit taller.

So it's my headcanon that before Soul Eater there was just Spirit, Stein and June (my headcanon for Maka's mother. The name Kami is a mistranslation). Stein's always been a little off, so one day he goes and installs a rod through his head that he claims helps him see wavelengths (which he later upgrades into a screw, which can adjust for wavelengths). Spirit just wants to become a death scythe and marry a nice girl, and June can't find a weapon partner who can sync with her.

Spirit has just discovered that Stein used his pet for some dreadful experiment because for some reason June knew and she let it slip.
"You told me my rat broke out of his own cage and ran away to evolve a new species!"
"Spirit, that's the plot of Mrs. Frisby and the Rats of NIMH. Didn't you do any reading in third grade?"
"THAT IS NOT THE POINT, STEIN."

I know June looks a bit like a creeper, but I originally drew her alone for reference purposes and didn't want to reposition her eyes.
